| Wake up, Neo... there's a new TRW trailer out |

Hi there.
Here's a new trailer for the upcoming Max Payne mod The Real World. It shows footage from the Lobby, Subway, and Street levels, plus a few extras. The video was put together quite quickly, but I hope you like it.
Trailer 4: Wake Up, Neo...
Oh, and before anyone asks, please let me point out that the HUD is placeholder. The brightly coloured health bar is just for testing purposes, and will be replaced with something more appropriate when the time comes.
A playable demo can be downloaded from the mod's downloads section, and previous trailers can be found at: http://www.youtube.com/JonHallier

| Teahouse Screens |

Finally, as requested, here are some screens of Seraph's Teahouse level.
As a slight twist, I decided to use Trinity in this particular photoshoot. Normally you play as Neo, but I wanted to illustrate the point that in TRW you can play as any character you want. So if you want Morpheus or Agent Smith to be 'The One', you can. Trinity's costume here looks quite similar to Neo's, so I think it still fits the scene.

| The Real World -- New Screenshots |

Alright! This week (as promised) our gallery features 15 new screenshots from Trinity's 'Rooftop Chase' level, based on the opening sequence from the first Matrix film. I hope you like them.
As most of you know, as a little experiment, I'm letting the public decide (to some extent) what media is released next, in the form of a poll. So, you can vote for the level you'd like to see next over at our Levels4you project page. Whichever level gets the most votes will then be featured in the next screenshot/media update! It's free, registration is not required, and you can vote as many times as you want. So far it's been working out pretty well!

Lastly, there are some gameplay videos and trailers of the mod at my YouTube page:

| New Screens - Mega City Chase |

Well it seems that the Streets level won the majority vote (56% of some 200+ votes), so as promised here is the first batch of screenshots for the level. I ended up taking quite a lot of screens, so I’m staggering the release of them over the coming month. I’ve not quite settled on how I’m going to do this, but there’s four batches of around 11-12 screens each.

| What do you want to see next? You decide! |

Given the amount of interest in the last TRW poll, I was stuck trying to think of something that would be both useful to me, and interesting for you guys. So I thought I'd try something new.
The basic idea is that you get to vote on what area of TRW you'd like to see next (from a fixed choice), and once the poll is over I'll post screens of the most popular item. Then we start all over again, with new items!
So this time around we're looking at the following levels: - The Burly Brawl, Seraph's Teahouse, The Lobby, and the Street Chase (erm, couldn't think of a good name for that last one). So vote for the level you'd like to see more of, and who knows...you might just get what you ask for.
In future it's not going to be limited to just levels. If this takes off, I'll include things like characters, moves, features, etc - anything I can make a decent sized post about.
Suggestions and comments are welcome in the forums
Let me know what you think.
Note: I won't be taking requests from pm or email -- the choice will always be fixed to those in the poll, and the majority vote wins. |

Here's some new screens from the Burly Brawl level - you just can't beat dozens of Smiths flipping about in the air. I liked the superpunch one enough that I made it into a wallpaper - hope you like it.

| Quick update |

Hi,
Sorry about the lack of updates, email replies, etc - this is just a quick post to let you know that the mod is still going fine.
However, I've been having some computer problems this month, and I've not been able to get online much or work on the mod. I'm getting a new PC next week, so hopefully things will pick up then. ^_^
All the best,
-Maddie
(sorry no new screens yet - I'm posting from uni) |

Okay so phase 1 of the Moddb contest is over and neither TRW nor Katana qualified. I'm a little disappointed, but not surprised -- all my major university courseworks and exams were this month, and my priority was with them.
Much thanks goes out to everyone who voted and generally showed their support for the mod(s). Major kudos to the Dawn of the Dead and Max Payne@University teams for qualifying -- best of luck with the next round -- I'll be voting for you!
Now the show must go on, and I've got something festive (albeit 16 days late) in preparation for this mod, and I'm just hoping it'll work on this site.
Stay tuned! |

| New TRW Video Uploaded! Character animation demo! |

I've uploaded a short movie showcasing some of the character animations that Ken and I have made over the last few years for The Real World. Out of the hundreds we've made, these are some of our favourites.
Check it out here:

Hoepfully this will give you an idea of some of the moves you can do in the game. |

Alright, after many half-hearted attempts to get the TRW site relaunched, I decided it would be quicker to make it here. Thanks greatly to the l4y staff offering this service to modders.
So yeah, at The Real World's project page you'll find your usual mix of (new) screenshots, features, trailers, and links to download the demo. Since everything is set up by L4Y, it'll be much quicker for me to post news, updates, dev diary entries, etc. than at Hell's Kitchen.
Thanks for reading, and keep it 'Real.
